Andrew Daddo - Master of Ceremonies
Andrew Daddo is the entertainer’s entertainer, and a perfect choice as the NIBA Convention’s MC. He has hosted many TV shows,and worked on the travel program The Great Outdoors. In recent years Andrewhas presented at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, Ian Thorpe’s Foundation launch, the John Eales medal, the Lions vs Wallaby series, the Tri-Nations, and numerous award nights around the country.

James Morrison
James Morrison counts among the most outstanding musicians of the past few years. Besides the trumpet, this multi-instrumentalist also plays trombone, euphonium, flugelhorn, saxophone and piano. At the age of thirteen he was playing professional gigs and his international career has developed at the same blistering pace including performances with some of the legends of jazz – Dizzy Gillespie, Cab Calloway, Woody Shaw, George Benson, Ray Charles and B.B King.

  Professor Ian Plimer
Ian Plimer is Professor of Mining Geology at the University of Adelaide and Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Melbourne where he was Professor and Head from 1991 to 2005. He was previously Professor and Head of Geology at the University of Newcastle. He has published 120 scientific papers and received many national and international awards for science. He has also published seven books for the general public. His latest book “Heaven and earth: Climate change – the missing science” was published in Australia (where it is a bestseller), UK and USA. He has twice won the Eureka Prize.

The Hon Kevin Rudd - Prime Minister of Australia
Kevin Rudd was sworn in as the 26th Prime Minister of Australia in December 2007. Prior to entering Parliament in 1998, he was a diplomat at the Australian embassy in Stockholm and later served as First Secretary at the Beijing embassy. After an unsuccessful bid for the Federal seat of Griffith in 1996, he turned to the private sector. As Senior China Consultant for KPMG Australia he helped Australian companies establish and build their business links in China and Taiwan. In 1998 he again contested the seat of Griffith and was elected to the Parliament of Australia. He was immediately elected Chair of the Parliamentary Labor Party’s Committee on National Security & Trade and served on a variety of parliamentary committees and taskforces. Following the November 2001 election, he was appointed Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs. On 4 December 2006 Mr Rudd was elected as the 19th leader of the Australian Labor Party.
 

 

Phil Ruthven - Chairman IBISWorld

Robbie Deans - Head Coach Qantas Wallabies
Robbie Deans is Super rugby’s most successful coach, taking the Canterbury Crusaders to the final six times in the past eight seasons. As a player, he still holds the record for the most points in the Canterbury provincial jersey (147 games, 1641 points). He also played five Tests for New Zealand between 1983 and 1985. He was an All Blacks Assistant Coach between 2001 and 2003, with the team winning 22, drawing one and losing only four tests. In 2007, Robbie was appointed Wallabies Coach until the end of the 2011 season.

John Trowbridge - Executive Member Australian Prudential Regulation Authority
John Trowbridge has most recently served as Executive Member of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority. He founded Trowbridge Consulting in 1981 after an extensive career in the public and private sector at the Commonwealth Treasury and QBE. John stayed on for two years after his actuarial firm merged with Deloitte in 2000. Since then he has held executive and director positions with insurance and reinsurance companies, including as Suncorp’s Group Executive, General Insurance, and has had advisory roles examining various financial sector issues. He was also President of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 1998 and served as a member of the Treasurer’s Financial Sector Advisory Council from 1998 to 2004.

Clement Booth - Member of the Board of Management Allianz SE
Clem Booth joined the Allianz SE management board in January 2006, bringing more than 30 years of insurance industry experience to the German financial services giant. South African-born Mr Booth sits on the 10-strong Allianz SE Board of Management, a central cog in the company’s two-tier control system alongside the supervisory board. Mr Booth’s responsibilities include Allianz Group Insurance Anglo Broker Markets, North American Free Trade Agreement Markets, and supervision of global lines including specialty business, reinsurance division Allianz Re and Allianz Australia. He is a respected insurance industry authority and advocate of corporate social responsibility, having contributed to a number of environmental and diversity initiatives undertaken by Allianz Group.
 

 

The Hon Jeff Kennett AC
Jeff Kennett is regarded as one of Australia’s most interesting and charismatic speakers. He became Premier of Victoria in 1992 with huge majorities in both houses of the State Parliament. He also held the portfolios of Multicultural Affairs and the Arts, and gained a reputation as a reformer, reinvigorating Victoria’s economy. In November 1999, Mr Kennett resigned from the Victorian Parliament after 23½ years’ service to pursue a corporate career. He is currently the Chairman of\ Beyondblue (the National Depressionnitiative), President of the Hawthorn AFL club, and a member of many business and not-for-profit boards.

Paul Goddard - Director Macey Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd
Paul Goddard has been in the insurance broking business for almost 30 years and is a director of Macey Insurance Brokers, a regional broker based in Nowra, NSW. He has always been a strong advocate of NIBA and has served the association for a number of years in a variety of positions, and is the immediate past president of NIBA. Grant Richmond - Oxley Insurance Brokers
Raised in the NSW town of Port Macquarie, where he has worked as a broker for 13 years, Grant is a shareholder in Oxley Insurance Brokers. His experience includes three years in the financial sector prior to becoming a broker. He is also involved with the City of Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce, Australian Business Limited and Hastings Business Enterprise Centre. Grant enjoys running, cycling, motor sports, surfing and spending time with his family.

Emilie Webster is a director of Victorian regional brokerage Grampians Insurance Brokers. Prior to joining the insurance industry eight years ago she was involved in the banking sector. She became a QPIB in 2003 and in the same year won the Regional Insurance Brokers Association Award of Excellence. In 2004 Emilie became the Responsible Officer and Senior Account Executive of Grampians Insurance Brokers, and two years later was appointed Company Manager.

Carlie Spencer - Account Manager, Corporate Risks NSW Jardine Lloyd Thompson Pty Ltd
Carlie Spencer has been a corporate insurance broker for the past 13 years on the general insurance side and has been working at JLT for five years. She has been on NIBA’s NSW Young Professionals Committee since 2002 and is currently Chairman of the Young Professionals Committee.

Gavin Creighton is a partner in the Insurance Group. Gavin has extensive experience in professional indemnity, public liability and general litigation. Helen Carroll commenced at ASIC in March 2009 as a Senior Specialist and currently manages the Sydney team for financial advisers.
