Warren Tickle Memorial Award
The Warren Tickle Memorial Award goes to a young Insurance Broker who exhibits an outstanding level of professionalism and integrity. In 2007, the format of the award changed to better recognise the high standard of nominees in each state. A Young Professional Broker of the year is now selected in 5 regions, with the winners coming together for a personal development workshop and further judging before one is selected as the winner of the Warren Tickle Memorial Award.

Warren Tickle Memorial Award 2008
AWARD CRITERIA
Candidates should provide evidence of exceptional service in the Insurance Broking industry demonstrating;
- a commitment to the development and the promotion of the Insurance Broking industry,
- a commitment to his/her personal development,
- outstanding contributions towards the team in which he/she works,
- comments to the degree to which the community has benefited as a whole from the nominee’s activities, and
- an understanding of the history of the industry and of the history of this award.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements
- Under 35 years old at the 31 December 2008
- Be a QPIB/QFSR or NIBA Associate
- Hold a full Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) or equivalent
- Have spent a minimum of 3 of the last 5 years in Australia
- Previous winners will not be eligible for the award

One winner will be awarded in each of the following regions
- NSW/ACT
- VIC/TAS
- SA/NT
- WA
- QLD
EVIDENCE REQUIREMENTS
All Nominations should include the following
- Nomination Form with Reference Letter attaining to the professionalism and integrity of the Nominee
- Candidates Academic Record
- Career Resume
- 1-2 Underwriter References
- 1-2 Client References
- Personal Statement (1000 words or less) outlining notable achievements and explaining how the nominee meets the award criteria.

PRIZES
Each State winner will receive
- A one day personal development workshop in Sydney, airfares and accommodation included (judging for the National winner will take place on the following day, also in Sydney)
- Registration, airfares and accommodation for the NIBA Convention
History of the Warren Tickle Memorial Award
This trophy began in 1990 and is awarded in honour of Warren Tickle, a former Insurance Commissioner and insurance lecturer. He was the Commissioner responsible for the implementation of the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act 1984. Warren's early insurance career was at Sun Alliance and it is the present day company (VERO) that sponsors the trophy.
