Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is dealing and what types of dealing services are there?
Your licence should have the following authority “Dealing” which includes:
- Applying for, acquiring, issuing, varying or disposing of financial products.
- Arranging for a person to do one of the above.
Where a broker operates under a binder as agent of an insurer (i.e. authority to enter into non interim contract as agent of the insurer) their licence authority needs to include the ‘issue’ authority in addition to “arranging” as they are issuing a product on behalf of the insurer.
Generally most insurance brokers will have this authority. If you do not or will not ever act as agent of the insurer you do not need the “issue” authority. |
