QBE Australia has won the highly coveted National Insurance Brokers Association’s (NIBA) General Insurer of the Year award for the sixth year running.
Presented yesterday at NIBA’s 25th Annual Convention, the award is the most prestigious acknowledgement of excellence a general insurer can receive in Australia.
NIBA Chief Executive Noel Pettersen says the award – which recognises the quality of service provided by insurers – is unique as it is voted on by brokerages from all over Australia.
The award is regarded by insurers as the pinnacle of achievement in the Australian market, and competition to win it is intense,” Mr Pettersen said. “Because the broking community has officially selected the winner, it is a clear endorsement of the winner’s commitment to quality service and strong working relationships with brokers.
NIBA brokers around Australia were asked to rank the insurer that performs the best overall on a range of important product and service quality factors.
QBE Chief Operating Officer Terry Ibbotson said the award recognises the efforts of QBE’s more than 3000 employees in servicing its broker partners.
Only national insurers operating in the broker market are eligible for inclusion in the survey.
The runner-up for the 2007 NIBA General Insurer of the Year Award was Zurich Financial Services Australia.
