Victorian finalist named in Warren Tickle Memorial Award

Phillips Financial Services Director Mark Van Der Haar has been named the Warren Tickle Memorial Award finalist for Victoria/Tasmania at a National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) event in Melbourne on Saturday.

Mr Van Der Haar, manager of Affinity Services at the Cheltenham-based brokerage, joins an impressive list of candidates in the running for the national award to be presented to the winner at the NIBA Convention in Darwin next month.

He joins Ian Poustie of Zenith Insurance Services in Western Australia, Jacqueline Scaf of Queensland firm Citycover Insurance Brokers, Albury-based Matthew O’Donnell of Aon and South Australia/Northern Territory finalist Andrew Bourke of IC Frith and Associates in Adelaide.

NIBA Chief Executive Noel Pettersen said Mr Van Der Haar’s notable list of academic achievements and excellent client and underwriter references were impressive. “Mark’s strong teamwork and considerable experience, as well as his obvious dedication to his profession impressed the judging panel.”

The Warren Tickle Memorial Award is sponsored by Vero and recognises a talented young broker who exhibits outstanding professionalism. Judging will be undertaken next month when finalists are flown to Sydney for a two-day personal development seminar and judging.
