Brokers choose Sydney for 2009 Convention

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) will convene in Sydney next year for the 27th National Convention – the first time the event has been held in the nation’s financial services centre.

Bright Lights, Big City, the convention will be held from September 19-22 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The annual showcase event, which attracts industry figures from around Australia and overseas, will focus on emerging issues impacting the general insurance sector.

NIBA Chief Executive Noel Pettersen says he anticipates a larger than usual number of delegates will attend the convention when it is held at the industry.

Sydney is the hub of Australia's financial services sector, he said. We want to take advantage of this by putting on a program that challenges modern business life and focuses on the needs of younger insurance professionals.

Sponsors and exhibitors are already excited at the prospect of reaching many new delegates in Sydney,” Mr Pettersen said.
