Insurance Council produces new market review publication

The Insurance Council has announced the launch of “Industry in Focus”, a review of market-related data relative to the general insurance industry and that is on the public record.

According to CEO and Executive Director Ms Kerrie Kelly, on a regular basis and through “Industry in Focus”, the Insurance Council will provide insight into the industry in Australia.

The first issue release for November, 2008, relates to weather activities, and shows weather claims to general insurance policies increased markedly from around 12% in 2000 to 31.5% in 2007, yet another indication that premium levels at least in some classes of business are likely soon to rise.
