Brokers lend a hand with bushfire claims
Insurance brokers will help victims of the Victorian bushfires to settle claims, the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) announced today.
The free service may assist claimants who have complex claims or whose business may be affected, NIBA Chief Executive Noel Pettersen said.
“The industry will handle all the claims with great care and consideration, but there will inevitably be some complex claims where people would like some assistance,” he said. “We also realise that some people are going to be feeling very distressed and not really able to focus on the claim,” he said.
“All insurance brokers are experienced at managing claims, and we’re ready to help.”
Claimants wanting the access a broker can search for one at www.needabroker.com.au. Or call NIBA at 1800 004 306.

NIBA is an independent industry association representing 500 firms and more than 2600 intermediaries, who handle almost 90% of the commercial insurance transacted in Australia. Brokers play a major role in insurance distribution, handling $10 billion in premiums annually and placing around half of Australia’s total insurance business. |
