NSW floods

The NSW SES has reported that damage reported so far from flooding across Northern and Western parts of the state is very light, and has affected mainly roads and bridges.

In Bourke about 30 properties had water encroach on the property. The NSW Government has declared the area a disaster zone.

In the Clarence region some areas cut off by floodwaters should have access restored today while others in rural areas remain isolated. No significant property damage has been reported.

In the Oxley region there has been minor flooding and inundation of low-lying areas resulting in some calls for evacuation including of the Telegraph Point school.

In the Hunter region the Chichester Dam is operating as designed and there are no impacts for residents downstream at this alert level.

To date the SES has responded to 8 flood rescue incidents across the State.

Further rainfall is expected along the NSW coastal area today.
