McLardy McShane Golf Day raises funds for youth charity Reach

Victorian firm McLardy McShane held their sixth annual charity golf day on 17 May in Portsea. More than 150 attendees raised $30,000 for the Reach Foundation, a charity run by AFL legend Jim Stynes, that works to empower young people and help them reach their full potential.

Don McLardy, Managing Director of McLardy McShane was thrilled with the result. “The McLardy McShane Golf Day is not only a way to thank our clients and associates for their continued support, but provides an effective platform for us to share our passion for helping Reach and will hopefully inspire guests to get on board as well,” he says.

Golfers enjoyed a day of social competition, with pro-golfer Jody Fleming on hand to offer advice. AFL star Billy Brownless was MC at the evening dinner and Reach Program Director Trisha Broadbridge shared her personal journey with the audience.

Allianz and Vero were major sponsors of the event, with notable donations coming from Macquarie Bank, Nautilus Insurance, QBE, Aviva, Zurich, Lumley and UAA.

McLardy McShane have supported the Reach Foundation for 10 years and in 2009 donated over $100,000 to the charity.
