General Insurance Code of Practice TrainingHave you updated your offer procedures to comply with the latest version of the General Insurance Code of Practice? The current Code of Practice was introduced in 2006, and underwent its first three-yearly review in 2009. The revised code became effective as of 1 May 2010 and maintains the high standards insurers are expected to provide to consumers. The amendments to the Code mean brokerages will need to adjust their internal procedures to ensure they are compliant and that all staff are trained and familiar with any new or altered procedures or processes. If staff have had previous training for the Insurance Code of Practice, they just need to top up with training to address any changes to the brokerage’s internal procedures and their IDR/EDR processes that may be affected by the amendments that came into effect on 1 May 2010. If staff have not previously completed Code of Practice Training, this is an ideal time to enrol them in NIBA’s Code of Practice online Course which covers both the General Insurance Code of Practice and the Brokers Code of Practice. If you require any assistance with courses or training please contact 1800 004 306 or email courses@nibacollege.com.au Return to Broker Buzz |
