McLardy McShane helps kids reach their dreamsMore than 630 insurance professionals and clients came together for the second annual McLardy McShane Reach Christmas Lunch last week. The lunch is in support of the Reach Foundation, which aims to help kids fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams. The guests certainly dug deep to lend their support to the organisation, with many paying for an opportunity to attend a Heroes Day, Reach's landmark event for Year Nine students. On these days, Don McLardy, managing Director of McLardy McShane, takes groups of business leaders to give them a first-hand experience of Reach's work. Reach Foundation CEO Gordon Lefevre was very grateful for the outstanding support for the tours. "The Heroes Bus Tours have enabled us to share our work with business and community leaders, who are passionate about supporting young people be the best they can be," he said. "After experiencing a Heroes Day these adults often feel empowered and inspired and want to take this feeling back into their organisations, communities and their lives." Entertainment for the lunch was provided by Reach founder and AFL legend Jim Stynes and advertising guru Russel Howcroft, one of the regular panelists on The Gruen Transfer. One talented young Reach member, Zac Prior, also delivered a mini-workshop on the some of the charity's programs. The event, held at Atlantic in Melbourne's Docklands precinct, is quickly becoming one of the key events on the insurance calendar. This year's lunch was attended by all of the leading companies in the industry, including QBE, AXA, Allianz, MLC, UAA, Associated Marine, Macquarie Premium Funding, Premier Funding, Centrepoint Alliance, Steadfast and Zurich.
