Zurich has launched its NextGen Leadership Academy, aimed at fostering the next generation of leaders among it’s key broker partners.

Steve Ord, Chief Distribution Officer, Zurich Australia & New Zealand, said: “The launch of the NextGen Leadership Academy is our contribution to the development of tomorrow’s insurance leaders. As one of Australia’s largest commercial insurers, we have a responsibility to ensure the leaders of tomorrow represent not only the best of the insurance industry, but the best of Australia’s business community.”

The highlight of the program includes an international experience, with participants arriving in Switzerland this month for presentations and workshops facilitated by senior Zurich Group Executives. On their return each participant will be assigned a senior Zurich Executive as their leadership mentor and coach, and work with them on their development over the next 12 months.

“Academy inductees were selected based on both their demonstrated leadership capability and future potential. We’re excited that our global reach allows us to offer a unique experience and give participants exposure to the world of international insurance,” said Ord.

The Zurich NextGen Leadership Academy participants are:

  • Ammon Wilkes, Edgewise Insurance Brokers , Melbourne
  • Angelo Stathopoulos, Guardian Insurance Brokers, Adelaide
  • Brad Kelly, Gow Gates, Sydney
  • Callum Duff, Marsh, Sydney
  • Keely Autry, Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), Sydney
  • Maria Parry, Austcover, Brisbane
  • Mark Luckin, Lockton Companies Australia, Perth
  • Stephen Rudman, Gallagher, Sydney

Accompanying the Academy inductees on their international experience are Zurich Australia team members Scott Luxford, Head of Distribution, and Bernadus Edista, Senior Liability Underwriter.
