World Suicide Prevention Day - 10 September 2019
The Jake Edwards Story, sponsored by Jodi Sharman - Caminiti
A free event not to be missed!
Diagnosed with depression at the age of 19 while on an AFL list, it wasn’t until his career drastically ended that things became increasingly tough for the now 29 year old. Jake spent 4 years escaping pain through drinking and drug use, which eventually led him to an attempted suicide.
As a survivor, Jake now dedicates his time to mental health awareness and speaks frankly about his experiences. Jake’s story covers all aspects of resilience, persistence and adversity while ensuring that each person will leave inspired, driven and focussed
“If any person of any age has not had the opportunity to hear Jake speak then they are truly missing out”. - Dr Mark Giancaspro / School of Law” – University of Adelaide.
