Unoccupied Businesses: Do’s and Don’ts

What you will learn

The objective of the session is to highlight the key insurance concerns arising as businesses transition into and out of idle conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The presentation puts forward CGU’s and IAG Risk Partners approach to supporting your customers through these difficult times. The aim of the presentation is to educate the attendees in the key risk factors around unoccupied businesses and how to approach the management of the same.

Jim Filer

Jim is a Lead Risk Engineer at IAG and has over 16 years prior risk engineering experience involving roles at CGU, Marsh and Vero Global and Risk Managed managing risk engineering programs for large institutional clients as well as global clients in the process, transport, food, manufacturing and mining industries including Xstrata, Federation Centres, Queensland Investment Corporation, Arrium, Goodman Fielder, Wilmar Sugar, Downer EDI and other large and heavy industries. This includes reviewing passive and active Fire Protection system(s) performance against individual risks presented by each insured's business locations and operational activities and local legislations.

Jim represents IAG on the Insurance Council of Australia for the Property Risk Committee and has provided substantial input into the Aluminium Cladding Testing protocol released at the end of 2017.

Jim’s early career in metallurgy was with Rolls Royce UK and he is a Qualified Queensland Fire Safety Advisor and Certified ISO 31000 Risk Management Professional, C31000.

Chris Graves

Chris has over 26 years insurance experience spanning across Queensland, NSW & Victoria.

His career has included a diverse number of roles across underwriting, portfolio management & relationship management for most commercial lines products across customer segments ranging from SME, Mid-Market, Corporate & High Hazard industries.

Chris’s role for the last 4 years has been National Underwriting Manager for SME where he has underwriting responsibility for all SME products across IAG’s 4 channels to market.

This webinar will be followed by a 10 question quiz. The quiz must be completed and participants must gain 80% correct rate to obtain NIBA's accredited 2 CPD points.
