Feedback and submissions invited for the review of the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has released a further consultation paper inviting feedback and submissions from consumers, organisations, representative associations, and any other interested stakeholders as part of the review of the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice (the Code).

Following feedback from industry leaders, the Code Compliance Committee, and consumer groups, we have taken a fresh approach incorporating much of the feedback.

The new draft code addresses some of the initial concerns of many of the original document and is aimed to accommodate the individual business models of broking firms. The Code is intended to be accompanied by an implementation guide which will provide further information and assist members in implementing the Code across their business.

Stakeholders can access the revised draft Code as well as a copy of the Independent Reviewers Report

Submissions will remain open until 10 December 2021, after which time the Independent Reviewer will make their final recommendation to the Board.
