Representatives from the NIBA Board took the stage at the 2024 NIBA Convention to share important insights around the key priorities and objectives for NIBA for 2025 and beyond.

NIBA President Gary Okely, NIBA Vice President Nick Cook and NIBA Immediate Past President Di Phelan were joined on stage by NIBA CEO Richard Klipin to discuss NIBA’s strategic direction across its three pillars of Representation, Professionalism and Community as the peak professional body for the insurance broking profession.

The panel highlighted the important work that NIBA continues to do as the ‘one voice’ of the insurance broking profession, ensuring that brokers' voices are amplified in discussions with key stakeholders across industry, regulators, and the government.

Regarding the Professionalism pillar, the panel noted that they would like to see more QPIBs coming through, an increase in breach reporting that would signal that the profession is embracing self-reporting as a culture of continual reporting and improvement, and a strong and robust Code of Practice showcasing a commitment to self-regulation.

Coming to the Community pillar, the panel was pleased to see a vibrant and engaged NIBA community in action at the 2024 NIBA Gala Lunches across the country and the breadth and diversity of the profession and wider industry come together as one in Adelaide at the 2024 NIBA Convention.

The panel also discussed the key insights that emerged from the Broker Market Survey, particularly around what members want NIBA to focus on and what they consider most valuable.
