NIBA Announces the Winner of the 2025 NSW/ACT Young Broker of the Year Award 

NIBA is thrilled to announce the winner of the Vero-partnered 2025 NSW/ACT Young Broker of the Year award.

The award was announced as part of the 2025 NIBA NSW Gala Lunch, attended by over 500 professionals at The Fullerton Hotel, Sydney, on Wednesday, 09 July.   

The Vero-partnered 2025 NSW/ACT Young Broker of the Year was awarded to Derek Turner from Aon. The Young Broker of the Year celebrates the outstanding contributions of brokers under the age of 35. 

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin offered his congratulations to the NSW/ACT winner and acknowledged the finalists: “NIBA congratulates Derek for this fantastic achievement, wishing him the very best of luck for the national awards in October.”   

“NIBA acknowledges the incredible efforts of all the finalists in going above and beyond for their clients and the impact they’ve made in giving back to the community,” Richard added. 

NIBA President Nick Cook noted the importance of the award program: “The award is an important platform to recognise the outstanding professionals shaping the broking profession.” 

Yusuf Alexander, Veroʼs State Distribution Manager for NSW/ACT said, “Derek's passion for the industry and dedication to his clients were evident throughout the selection process. His involvement in professional development is a great marker of leadership qualities. We are proud to support brokers like Derek who represent the very best of the profession." 

Derek will go on to compete for the national Young Broker of the Year award. The winner of the Vero-partnered Young Broker of the Year will be revealed at the upcoming 2025 NIBA Convention at the Gold Coast in October.
