NIBA welcomes Daniel Mulino

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said the association looks forward to engaging with Minister Mulino on policy priorities that are central to the insurance broking profession and the broader risk and financial services landscape.

“Insurance brokers play a critical role in ensuring that clients have access to quality advice and appropriate cover,” Mr Klipin said. “Dr Mulino brings a strong policy background to a portfolio that is vital to Australia's economic resilience and consumer protection framework.”

Mr Klipin said NIBA is particularly focused on working with the Minister and his department on the Government's response to the Parliamentary inquiry into insurers handling of 2022 flood claims. “The inquiry highlighted significant challenges in claims handling, particularly in times of crisis,” he said.

“Brokers are deeply involved in supporting clients throughout the claims process, and their perspective is essential to improving outcomes and rebuilding trust in the insurance system.”

NIBA remains committed to working collaboratively with Government and regulators to ensure a well-functioning, accessible and competitive insurance market, underpinned by professional advice, that delivers value for consumers and supports national resilience.
